How does it work?

Your personal program and secure database reside on a secure Internet server. You simply start the program with a single mouse-click, and log in with your secure username and password. All of the program functions are immediately available. No one else, including us, has access to your records. You can use the program from any device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone) anywhere in the world that there is access to the Internet. With the powerful built-in editor (built-in spell-checking), you can create and print, email, or fax perfect documents, including perfectly formatted prescriptions with your custom headers. Prescription-writing is especially powerful, with the most common prescriptions and doses for all 20 DSM conditions easily selected with a single mouse-click. Compete information about any medication is instantly available. A host of different forms are provided for initial intake exams, mental status exams, and a wide variety of assessment instruments for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and other conditions.

How much does it cost?

The special introductory price is $149, marked down $50 from the regular price, for a limited time. For interns, residents, and other persons in training who qualify, the price is $99. You get one year free updates and technical support from the time of purchase, and a $50 discount for annual updates. If we implement a useful function that you suggest, we will give you a $50 cash prize!

Is it really effective?
Yes, very much so. A chief benefit is that you have an amazing amount of essential information right at your finger-tips during an actual clinical session. Follow a check list for doing an intake exam. Do a complete mental status exam with only a few mouse clicks and fields to easily fill in. Decide on an appropriate medication, check possible drug interactions and warnings, and write the prescription with only a couple of mouse-clicks. Decide on and perform and score an appropriate assessment very easily. Brush up on a standard psychotherapeutic technique, such as CBT or person-centered therapy. Get a complete description of any one of the new DSM-5 disorders instantly, without having to buy the book. Instantly determine the billable code associated with any condition. Easily perform billing functions, and send invoices. Make your own personal library of favorite information (Internet links, PDF, Excel, MS Word files, more). Check your appointments for the day, week or month. Send appointment reminders. Keep an eye on the built-in session timer during an interview. Lots more.

What about medications?

Writing prescriptions is really simple. You can list all of the common medications in use by DSM-5 categories, or by condtions such as depression, anxiety, substance-abuse, cognitive disorders, pain, and more. Then, simply click on a medication, and the program will list all of the standard doses for that medication. You can then check possible drug interactions and warnings with a single mouse-click. When you have decided on the best medication, a single mouse-click creates a perfectly formatted prescription form with your personal header information, which you can print out, fax, or email to a pharmacy. You can also create a patient hand-out, translated to the patient's native language, again, with only a couple of mouse-clicks. A permanent record of all of the prescriptions you have written is saved by the program, which you can easily review, and a record of the current medications for each patient is presented in the patient's records.

What is the down-side?

We would guess that the chief "downside" is that you have to pay actual money for the program. This is in contrast to a number of "EMR" (Electronic Medical Records) programs that you can get for free. But most of these programs come with a significant "gotcha": there is almost always a steep learning curve, oftentimes such programs are loaded with annoying advertisements (they are all subsidized by the pharmaceutical and/or insurance industries, so that they are slanted towards selling you something), and few if any of them are designed specifically for the mental health profession, so that most of the forms and functions are completely useless. Moreover, you can expect to get a bunch of emails and telephone calls related to the use of the program. Taking all of this into consideration, we think that the modest price of our program (compared, for example to cost of a standard medical textbook) more than justifies its' cost, and will save you big bucks, considering all of the other expenses (dication, record keeping, billing services, etc.) that you won't have to pay for.
